This Center City apartment renovation focused on reimagining an existing furnished residence without major construction, prioritizing thoughtful updates over full replacement. The design strategy centered on giving new life to well‑proportioned pieces through reupholstery, selective replacements, and layered finishes.
In the living and dining areas, original furniture with strong contemporary lines was softened through the introduction of textured, natural fabrics, grounding the space with warmth and tactility. Vinyl dining chairs were reupholstered in a neutral tweed, balancing the stark black dining table and reinforcing a more timeless, lived‑in aesthetic. A new area rug and sculptural chandelier anchored the dining zone, while tailored drapery completed the composition with softness and vertical rhythm.
Bathrooms were refreshed through surgical design interventions, maintaining existing layouts while elevating the atmosphere. Chrome fixtures and decorative elements were replaced with warmer finishes, contemporary lighting, and a refined mirror selection, creating cohesion and understated elegance.
The result is a layered, restrained interior that respects the original framework while expressing a more curated, personal sensibility—a case study in minimal intervention with strong visual impact.
